Every once in awhile I walk in and ask who is Diana? Your girls in front - whom I LOVE - tell me that you are the dark haired skinny girl! Some time you should come out and meet us. Maybe a quilting cottage newsletter signing! LOL

BTW - I would not come into your store if it was not for the girls up front. Even though it seems you get new people in often - they are still very nice! I hope you are paying them well. And PLEASE tell them thank you for the great customer service! A Rochester Quilting Cottage Fan!

A friend just recently brought me to tears when I handed her a quilt that I hand made as a wedding gift. She had joked a couple of about me making her a quilt if she ever married. I never said anything but filed the remark away and came up with a blue and white sampler for her. I wrote on the label, "Something Borrowed, Something Blue." She cried and said that was the best gift anyone ever gave her.

Thank you for reading our hearts and minds.

He asked me why I thought that quilting was more fun than the scrapbooking I used to constantly be engrossed in. I gave him the following analogy. A quilt is fun to make, as is a scrapbook. A quilt is beautiful to look at, as is a scrapbook. A quilt is a way to preserve family history, as is a scrapbook. For us singles, making a quilt is a way to spend time that might otherwise be lonely hours, as is a scrapbook. There is however at least one difference between the two. A quilt is usable. A scrapbook sits on a shelf. Also, if you don't happen to have the significant other to cuddle with a blankie still works much better than a scrapbook. He had to concede.

My 27 year old son was recently in a serious bicycling accident, and is currently needing 24 hr care. We are all taking our shifts amidst work and other duties. Naturally, since the accident, I've not been able to spend time like I normally would in my sewing room, and was missing it. As I was caring for my son the other day, I noticed that one of the quilts he was using to prop up his leg was one that I had recently finished for he and his wife, and he was resting his weary head on one of the matching pillowcases. As tears began to flow, I was again sweetly reminded of why I quilt. The quilts become a comfort to those that we love when times are hard and life does not turn out like we had planned. I can't thank you enough for your ramblings, they are helping to sustain me as I continue on life's pathway.

Sincerely,

Rorie
