    Well.....

I'll leave something here for seed. I'm actually the alter ego of your friendly neighborhood forum owner, moderator, chief cook and bottle washer. I won't pretend I understand why you all choose to cut up perfectly good material so you can sew it back together again but your hostess and my wife, Diana, seems to enjoy it so much, who am I to complain. After all, she puts up with the goofy stuff that I do for entertainment.

Here are our goals with the forum (not rules, I'll post those in the official stuff section):

    1) We want to gather content. You can upload files here. I'm thinking there are a lot of copyright free patterns out there we can share. I will post tutorials on how to do all this when I figure it out...grin! You can post pictures here. Folks can have their own galleries if they wish. Show off your work!

    2) Help out the newbies! Think of the blunders you made starting out and share that sage experience. The new generation should benefit from your long years chopping and piecing.

    3) Make friends! Quilting in bunches is more fun.

Most of all, have a good time and hopefully pick up something new!

    Thanks!

    Re: Well.....

So right he is!  I have heard others ( usualy a non-quilter) attempt to describe the " quilter persona"  and I end up clutching my sides in laughter. Horrible when I'm actually driving at the time!

I have found that on the whole, quilters are a very social bunch and this forum will help in that. I have met quilters all over the world and enjoy every moment of the stories and discussion of the creativity. Especially on the evolution of quilting and how a pattern that came to the U.S. with immigrants changed with it's treck across the continent.

This place is where we , as quilters, can talk, express, teach and show how we view the world...   stitched and patchwork of course!

    Re: Well.....

hehehe.... Yes.... I am in the process of making my first quilt.... It's a Queen Size quilt (yes rather large for my first, but I always have a hard time starting out small). In this quilt I am fussy cutting (it's what they tell me it's called) Pictures of Bears out and adding borders around every block. I started it in October, and still only have about 3 blocks done.... I'm rather busy with school, work, and my 3 yr old Son Leon. I will try to post pictures up as soon as Craig figures it out and tells us all!

Thank Craig for your hard work! I'm sure others will join in here and make a sucess out of the forum. Like you said all quilters enjoy sharing their work, knowledge, and fabrics! I introduced myself on a different thread. I wasn't sure where to do it. I belive you will be adding different topics as this grows? ~Abbigail~

    Re: Well.....

I am a newbie, although I made my first quilt about 20 years ago. The quilting persona? Quilters have big hearts! A quilting group in Rochester, NH, that does not know me or my daughter, made a quilt of love for my daughter. My daughter suffers from colon cancer, and the joy we both got from that gift is immeasurable. Who would not wish to be part of such a compassionate group! I am starting back to quillting (thus the newbie) and looking forward to creating heirlooms! Lynnsmom

    Re: Well.....

Lynnsmom, I know what you mean about quilter's being "giving" people. My husband recently died from cancer and there was a lady on a garden forum I was on that sent him a lap quilt for his treatment days and then another quilting forum group sent me a beautiful full size quilt when my hubby died. They are a very caring group of special people who quilt. I hope your daughter is doing well now. It's tough, I know and I hope she makes a full recovery.

Welcome to the forum! It's not a very busy one ( at the time, hopefully soon)!
